Sanibel Island Photos
The popularity of Sanibel Island as a vacation destination continues to grow – and it can be no surprise as to the reason why!
There are few better spots in the world than Sanibel Island if you are looking for a holiday with idyllic, unpolluted white sand beaches, crystal clear turquoise waters, spectacular sunsets, unsurpassable places to eat and stay, and, of course, the world-renown Sanibel Island shelling experience.
In addition, Sanibel is home of the Ding Darling Wildlife Refuge, destination for hordes of migratory birds each year, supplementing the natural appeal of the area.
It is understandable, therefore, with this abundance of natural inspiration to be found on and around the island, that the area has also, over the years, become a favorite haunt for artists and photographers.
Professionals and amateurs alike can be sure of finding plenty to stimulate their creativity when visiting Sanibel.
Consequently, there are now a good number of sites on the internet where interested people can discover more about Sanibel Island by viewing some quite spectacular photos.
TerraGalleria.com
TerraGalleria is the photographic site of Quang-Tuan Luong, who has exclusive copyright of all the text and photographs appearing there. There are some quite stunning photographs of seashell-covered beaches that will give you a vivid idea of just how shell-strewn this island can be.
There are, in addition, some fine photographs of the bird life around Sanibel. My particular favorite shot here is one of a glorious Sanibel Island at sunrise.
Please remember that, if you wish to take any of the photographs on this site for your own use, that they are all registered with the US Copyright Office, so please read the guidelines that are provided for you.
SanibelIsland.com
There are some spectacular photographs available on SanibelIsland.com, taken by David Meardon, photographic editor for the local newspaper, and a resident of Sanibel since 1981. David has been given recognition of his outstanding ability by the Florida Press Association.
Look at David’s photographs for his stunning use of color, as well as his natural ‘creative eye’. There is a superb portfolio to view on this site, with shots of many different aspects of island life – my favorite here is the one entitled Fishing on Sanibel Island.
Captiva-Island.com
Captiva-Island.com features a selection of fine photographs on its Sanibel-Captiva gallery, many of which are very different from those on the two previously mentioned sites.
Here you can see shots of swimming pools and cafes as well as the natural beauty photographs – including an amazing photograph entitled Dolphins and Moonrise.
This website actually now has well over a thousand photographs, so you’ll really be able to get a feel for life on the island -or bring back some wonderful memories – by paying it a visit.
There is also a facility which enables you to purchase the prints in special fine-art color edition prints, so that you can frame them as permanent mementos.
